Who are the Deptford Lads?

Dave and Andrew (The Deptford Lads) like going on holiday.
We first started this website for what Dave still calls "The Grand Tour", when we when we took a rail tour around northern Europe in the Summer of 1997. Since then we've also been to Brussels (several times), Stockholm, Paris, North Yorkshire, Amsterdam, St Petersburg and the central Baltic, Copenhagen, Budapest, Helsinki, Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin, Norway and Hamburg. In these pages you can find out all about where we've been and what we've done.

Travelogues: Chronologically organised accounts, descriptions and pictures from our "excursions". Also practical tips, hotel, restaurant and bar reviews, itineraries of walks and excursions etc.

Themes: Some of our favourite holiday material arranged thematically (i.e. not chronological or geographical). There are now two completed themes - World Heritage Sites, and Tycho Brahe - others are in the pipeline (including, possibly, "Fish Markets", and "Lamp Posts of Europe").

Gazetteer: An attempt to organise all of the information geographically. Under development, and not overly useful at present. But Andrew likes lists!

Holiday Essentials: Useful internet links and other bits and bobs of internet trickery that we have found useful on (or in planning) our travels.

News/Plans: for the latest information about where we've been and where we are planning to go next.
