Stockholm 1998
We were so impressed by our first experience of Scandanavia on our "Grand Tour" in 1997 that we decided to visit Stockholm for a few days in July/August 1998.
We flew from London City Airport to Stockholm Arlanda Airport with Malmö Aviation.Their excellent value summer midweek return fare was just £109, plus £15 airport tax. It was the first time that Andrew and Dave had flown together - well, we had travelled by virtually every other means of transport known to man!
The continuing strength of sterling (we got around 12 Swedish Krone to the £) means that Sweden is not quite as expensive as it might have been (even the beer!) so this turned out to be a quite reasonably priced short break - total cost around £500 each including travel, hotel, and all expenses for 6 days (5 nights).
The Deptford Lads +1
While we were in Stockholm, we met-up with our friend Dave McI, who was there on business. Unfortunately, most of Dave's meetings were cancelled shortly before he arrived, so we ended-up spending quite a bit of time with him (shame that!).
